What is RSS and Why Should You Befriend It.
The two are basically the same thing. The simplest way of explaining either is: you subscribe to Time magazine but are only interested in their books review section. Not only that, you’d like to be informed the moment a reviewer has published a piece. More over, you decide how the article should look when it comes to you and when should it come to you. Pretty cool, huh! Feeds are basically a bunch of code that copies the article or post and delivers it to you. There are two ways you can receive and receive Feeds: Email or a Feed Reader. Email concept you’re more than familiar with. Feed Readers (and there are tons to choose from) are basically dedicated to gather all your Feeds and organize them so you have in front of you a customized version of a newspaper/magazine/journal etc. My explanation not helping? Let the folks at Common Craft do the talking. If you’re interested in technical details and history of RSS, click here.
